Some poker authors recommend limping with wired aces....Like most poker plays, this is a situational thing...What conditions/concepts need to be present in order to make limping correct.

I do make this play.What increases my value in this play is I often make the same play with AK or AQ(Less so) suited.Therefore, it does not give away as much to my opponents regarding the texture of my hand.

Conditions I like to make this play:

1).The blinds are tight.

2).The game is tight.

3).Players are likely to respect an upfront raise from me.

4).There are aggressive players to act close to the button that are likely to play me aggressively in that situation.
